Kawasan Falls in Badian, Cebu, Philippines

Kawasan Falls is the more popular waterfall destination among tourists in Cebu, Philippines. Other popular waterfall destinations are Tumalog Falls (Oslob) and Aguinid Falls (Samboan).

The three-level deep Kawasan Falls is located in Barangay Matutinao, Badian town, in the southwestern part of the province.

The three-layer Kawasan Falls in Badian is the most popular waterfall destination among tourists in Cebu. Cebu has around 90 known waterfalls.

Most businesses in the area of Kawasan Falls are either lodging places or food places. Most of these businesses are located at the lowest level of the waterfall. Fewer businesses operate in the middle layer while the top-most level of the waterfall is off-limits to businesses and is a lovely place to commune with nature.

Brief Notes About Badian

Badian is a third class municipality in the southwestern part of the province of Cebu. It is about 98 kilometers or 61 miles southwest of Cebu City. Tourism plays a major part in the economy of Badian alongside farming and fishing. Aside from the Kawasan Falls, Badian also has good beaches, several dive sites, an 18-hole golf course, and a tourist-friendly island: Zaragoza (or Badian) island. Recently, canyoning has also become popular.

How to get there:

From Cebu City:

  • Ride a bus at the Cebu South Bus Terminal bound for Badian. You may ride any bus that passes through Badian town (e.g. buses going to Malabuyoc, Ginatilan, Santander via the Southwestern route)
  • You may also choose to ride at the Librando terminal right in front of the Cebu Bus Terminal
  • Disembark at the church in Barangay Matutinao.
  • From the church, it is an easy trek towards the first level of waterfalls.
