For the buffet lover that I am, I wouldn't miss a chance to explore new buffet offerings around where I live. So one day, my brother and I headed to check out Panda Star, a buffet restaurant along A.S. Fortuna Avenue, Banilad, Mandaue City, Cebu, Philippines. Not too many people frequent the place.
The Buffet Station
There's not too many dishes in the Panda Star Buffet. There are about 5 entrees, 3 items in the dimsum station, a few items in the fruit and salad bar, a number of desserts, popcorn, soup, rice, and ice cream.
Fruit and Salad Bar
The fruit and salad section featured cucumber with vinaigrette dressing, pineapple, watermelon, mixed vegetable salad with vinaigrette dressing and coleslaw salad.
Main dishes included chicken teriyaki, mixed vegetables, salt and pepper ribs, steamed fish, lumpia, and pancit bam-i. My personal favorite is the salt and pepper ribs although I wished it was a lot more tender.
The dimsum station at Panda Star features siopao, siomai, and Chinese lumpia. The siomai is really good and is my favorite in this section.
If for anything, come to Panda Star because of the dessert: unlimited ice cream, turon, macaroons, and mango float. Ice cream flavors available are vanilla and ube (purple yam), or a mix of the two.
Panda Star lunch buffet costs PHP 229 per person while dinner buffet is at PHP 259 per person. Drinks are not yet included in the buffet price.
Lunch at Panda Star is from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and dinner at Panda Star is at 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Panda Star is located at A.S. Fortuna Street, Banilad, Mandaue City, Cebu, Philippines. It is across New Datche and beside Hyundai. For an exact location on the map, click here.
