Must Try Diner in Cebu: Cafe Racer

My friend invited me to try Cafe Racer on his birthday along Ouano Avenue at the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City, Cebu, Philippines because it gave him a "Johnny Rockets kind of vibe" when he first drove by. I thought, the themed restaurant inspired by cafe racers in the United Kingdom would be pricey but I was surprised to see the prices in their menu.

The first few things that caught my attention are some vintage cars used to decorate the place and a gas pump by the al fresco dining area. Grilling actually takes place under the hood of a Volkswagen Beetle. The cashier area is in a Volkswagen Kombi Van and I can't help but notice that some oil barrels were designed into couches and stools. Some tools decorate the walls inside the air conditioned dining area. The gas pump-looking stuff that first caught my attention is actually a beer dispenser.

Chasing Waterfalls in Cebu: Mantayupan Falls

The tallest waterfall in Cebu is located in Barili town, 64 kilometers southwest of Cebu City. The water from the main falls of Mantayupan drops from a height of 98 meters or 321 feet. Also known to locals as Ambakan Falls, it also has a lower level waterfall with a height of 14 meters. It is the most known among all attractions in Barili, the others being Sayaw beach, rock formations, and caves, the Tilapia Fishing Village and Restaurant, the Molave Milk Station, the Boloc-boloc Spring, Candugay Beach, Paril Mountain Resort, and Paradise Valley Mountain Resort.

Water from the waterfall is utilized in a hydroelectric power plant and is also distributed to barangays in Barili. Many local tourists frequent this place on weekends and some locals still go there to do their laundry. The provincial government of Cebu is currently developing the area for tourism.
